Ubuntu 9.04 + Logitech Quickcam Chat

Post by pyc »

After much struggle, I finally managed to compile ZoneMinder from the source... I guess everything is alright, but I can't still get no output from the cam, which works correctly with xawtv and camstream. In camorama it doesn't work, but it shows some lines like some standard is not correctly set. ZoneMinder is one great program and can someone help me before I start looking for other solution (possibly there isn't one...? :)

lsusb output:
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 046d:092c Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Chat

lsmod | grep gsp:
gspca_spca561 18944 0
gspca_main 29952 1 gspca_spca561
videodev 41600 1 gspca_main

I feel I'm close to solution but I really don't know where to look further... Quickcam Chat users please help...

I've spent months trying to get zone minder working on ubuntu with a usb camera.

I'm waiting for the RC of Karmic Koala (9.10) and then will try again.

Like you my cameras (I've tried four different one) work fine with Skype etc.

Try plug in the web cam,
reboot ,
then run zmfix as root
next restart zoneminder
