live video lags increasingly

2.4gig proc and a gig of ram
debian
1 VGA IP camera @ 6FPS
modect
I can restart ZM and it has the typical 2 second lag on live video.
After a while it is more like 30 seconds.
Any ideas?

Set the 6fps on the camera and dont set any fps on ZM ie put z zero in there.
