Monitor in Orange...all else in Green

Post by pibri »

Hi all,

I have been struggling on and off with zm since Aug 2009, I am yet to have any success.

However I feel that I am now in reach of getting this working.

Ubuntu 9.04 ZM 1.23.3

Upon installing a new monitor the function 'Monitor' stays in orange. Modetect, Record etc are green when I switch over to them.

The two cameras are green, one is a wireless IP the other a usb webcam.

The IP displays a white screen and the usb displays black...both are status: idle.
I have noticed that the USB webcam black watch screen has an additional caption of 'settings' as well as 'stills' and 'close'.

I have checked zmdc.log in /tmp and it has the following:
01/11/10 16:53:37.261890 zmdc[1486].INF [Server starting at 10/01/11 16:53:37]

01/11/10 19:00:49.125922 zmdc[1486].INF [Server shutdown at 10/01/11 19:00:49]

I have checked the other logs but they dont seem to have anything much in them.

Can any one help?

Thanks in advance.

zma znd zmc logs are the best place to look.

Also did you set the shared memory?

Thanks for the reply.

I did have an issue with shared memory. The session that I was working before the post I had the cameras in orange.

I checked the zmwatch.log ??(cant see it at moment because I am on different computer) and it had errors about shared Mem. I was going to post about it but when I logged on but my remedial action must have worked! The errors were gone when I checked. I'll put up more detail when I get onto my own machine.

As far as I know the 'Monitor' in orange is the main problem now.#

Where are the logs you mentioned?

Thanks for that brian...wrong forum?

I have the cameras in red/orange again. I think the shared memory issue is back.

In /tmp I have:

zmaudit.log

zmdc.sock

zmfilter.log

zmpkg.log

zmwatch.log which shows the following:
01/12/10 18:11:11.326012 zmwatch[2652].ERR [Can't get shared memory id '7a6d0004', 4: No such file or directory]
01/12/10 18:11:11.326298 zmwatch[2652].INF [Restarting capture daemon for New, shared memory not valid]
01/12/10 18:11:11.491901 zmwatch[2652].INF ['zmc -m 4' starting at 10/01/12 18:11:11, pid = 4572]

zmdc.log which shows the following:
01/12/10 17:59:39.398227 zmdc[2616].INF ['zmc -m 4' starting at 10/01/12 17:59:39, pid = 4076]
01/12/10 17:59:39.421459 zmdc[2616].ERR ['zmc -m 4' exited abnormally, exit status 255]

Any one with any ideas

Thanks in advance
