I've got, both in-house and at several clients, Aastra 57i series phones on asterisk pbx's. I would love to hear the door bell in my home office, and simply press a button on the phone to pull up an image that's there. In the client's cases, they're often small business that keep the front door locked for security and people get buzzed in. Access control solutions are too expensive for them and wouldn't be used enough.
I know the Aastra 5xi phone has limited imaging support. Has anyone done this. I know I can open a browser to check but it's a case of showcasing what is capable I'm after, never mind the cool factor that it does. Would love your feedback if you have tried this...successfully or not.
Alternatively, has anyone tried any of the sip video phones. Can they do video outside of a call.
