BTTV 878, xawtv work and zm not

I was instaled zoneminder in ubuntu 9.10 from synaptic repositórios (ver 1.24.1). Xawtv show a clear image from cameras, but zoneminder show /dev/video0 in red and dont show any image on stream. I'm using bttv 878 chip with 4 ports. What i do? if a card is compatible with xawtv is compatible with zoneminder too? I lost 1 week on this.

What are the permissions on /dev/video0 ?
ls -l /dev/video*

I've a memory that in ubuntu the apache user cannot read from this device by default

I try chmod 777 /dev/video0, restart zoneminder and nothing, same problem.

I have this every 10 minutes on my zmdc.log:

Try using V4L version 1 instead of 2?
Also try changing to grey temporarily to see if that works.
I found v4l2 a bit more fussy over palettes etc.
