Very bad Picture and zmu error515
Hey there,
I've got a problem with zoneminder.
I bought an Easycap DC60 VideoGrabber.
It works fine with vlc or mplayer.
But in zoneminder there is an really bad picture.
So i've tried to get the right settings with zmu but i get only "error 515"
"Error, failed to get video capabilities /dev/easycap0: Unknown error 515"
So can anybody tell me which are the right colour pallette settings ?
If I choose v4l1 it shows me nothing. I don't understand this.
I've tried a lot of different settings, but it isn't going better.
When I put my hand on the right cameras record edge, it appears on the screen from left.
My System is Ubuntu 9.10.
I've tried it on an other machine, the same problem.
Please help.
Thank you

If noone uses one succesfully, then none of us will have any idea. Is this a USB type thing?

First of all, thank you for your answer
Yes EasyCap is a USB device.
I think the problem is ZM it self.
Every program shows me correct the picture from the grabber (via /dev/easycap0).
Only ZM shows me a bad picture.

ok
first of all why pal b? id assume ntsc given your res?
i would also suggest you drop to 320x240 till we get it working properly.
looks like to me that its pulling multiple images in on one channel.
Can you limit the fps to say 1 for now?

i would suggest the zmu error is because the driver either isnt reporting the caperbilities correctly or inst reporting anything.
The fact you have it partially working makes me think its a format issue. Have you tried different formats and restarting zm in between changes?

I tried a lot of format combinations. But I didn't restart zm.
I've waited a few seconds (until the color of the entry changed from yellow into red with some combinations )
What about streaming the devices (with motion it works on localhost:8081 ) into zm ?`But zm dont accept the settings ?
Dou you know the right settings for motion to zm ?
Or do you know a good streaming tool ?
Question after question
I'm sorry.

So I think i'm not a lucky man.
With motion I got easycapstreaming working.
For my interest I bought a other Videocaputerdevice.
Socalled "Pinnacle Dazzle".
Ubuntu has no problem with this device (/dev/video1).
I executed zmu and get all the paramteres (without error )
But I can't see any picture through ZM.
I see only where the picture should be, and a processing loading in Firefox (Monitor View).
Xawtv shows me the picture.
zmdc.log shows me this error:
Any idea ?
Greetings
