Signal not detected (X)

Post by MarcoP »

Hi,

I'm about to setup zoneminder with a kodicom 8 channels (cloned but uses the exact same chipsets) and 3 sony ccd 1/3" but zmc tells me "Signal not detected (X)" for all 3 cameras.

Temporarily using a RCA cable with BNC plugs, then video and power will run over a CAT6 using baluns.

I've plugged the camera into VID1 on the back of the card and selected video0 as source, did also tried using video1,2 .... 7 but all I get is a black screen and "Signal not detected (X)".

Any help would be appreciated before all my wife clothes get stolen from the clothesline ... seems funny but we also had 2 break in attempt in just few days and I'm really worried about my family's safety. Door/windows sensor have just been installed (will try to use X10 later on) but I would love the cameras working as well.

Thanks

Check if you get signal from XAWTv or VLC or other proggy... reboot PC or restart ZM, did you set up the modprobe file???

Thanks for your reply,

modprobe and shared memory followed by a reboot was done and I will try other video programs to see how it goes.

Dealing with an unexpected issue now ... a .file or .folder inside my home is around 750GiB and the system its very unstable now ... init 1 to get things done ... bbs.

Right after I've used cheese webcam booth, zoneminder was able to pick up frames, jpeg works too.

Fedora 12 amd 64, 2gb ddr3, 4x250gb w/ software raid5.

3 x 520tvl 1/3" ±25fps monitors and the total load was ±0.7 including essential server services, media streaming with two working clients at the time and a gnome session.

Great work guys! Zoneminder was increasing the load by probably 0.3 only.
