Zoneminder & Sony Eyetoy

Post by mc »

:?: I have just bought an Eyetoy USB Cam for the PS2 as I have seen it is pretty much compatible with Linux using the ov51x drivers. Will give it a go when it arrives and will post my findings here. Have tried in vain for a couple of months to get a Logitech Quickcam Zoom camera to work, could get Audio ok and camera switches on to command, but just no picture - it's so frustrating! Ok webcams are not the best thing to use, but I want something simple to begin with.

Just got the Eyetoy.
Plugged in and checked with Gnomemeeting. Got Audio setup to recognize camera by its name, but crashes :x Video does not detect the camera. So far it seems as if my Logitech Quickcam Zoom is more likely to work as that gets audio and recognises the camera on video setup, just that it crashes when trying to test video....
If anyone has any tips please let me know. Perhaps I need to load a kernal (running FC3 2.6.12-1.1380_FC3 at the moment).
Earlier kernals back to 2.4 something don't work at all.
