I'm using Ubuntu desktop 32bit 9.04 with ZM 1.23.3 and I have 4 bnc cameras setup. 3 of the cameras are 640x480 and all 4 are set to RGB24 and modetect. What should I have the shmmax & shmall set to?
Is there a recommended amount of memory per camera that I should allocate? The system load seems to run between 2.7 - 4 depending on activity.
I'm planning to add at least 4 more cameras to the system in the next few months.
System specs:
AMD Quad core 2.4
4 GB of ram
one 1 TB hard drive - 7200 sata
one Linux Media Lab bnc card.
sysctl.conf shmall shammax - optimal settings per camera?

Hi, this one is explained well in the FAQ:
http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... esolutions.
shmmall doesn't need changing, its by default set to 8 GB, shmmax does need changing, default value is 128 MB i believe.
