My ZM 1.23.3 has been a very good servant to me. For over a year it's been as solid as a rock. Just recently it's started to do something a little weird. Despite having a 'purge when full' filter running set to 60%, it's now filling a disc on a weekly basis - almost as if the purge is clearing the the database, but not removing the files from: /var/cache/zoneminder/events/
Being my own worst enemy I deleted the purge when full filter and recreated it (clutching at straws) after three weeks of clearing the contents of /var/cache/zoneminder/events/
I'm wondering if I've screwed something, or something is broke but I'm not totally familiar with how it should work. My guess is if I run the purge when full by hand, it should see the disc usage on /var/cache/zoneminder/events/ drop as items are cleared?
I have an incline that disk usage statistic may be sticking at 6% but I'd appreciate some pointers on troubleshooting this. For me Zoneminder is a victim of it's stability insofar as I'm not entirely sure where to start.
Filling disc - but only at 6%?
noob with a possible fix
hiya
i had same problem
im kinda a noob to this zm and linux
but this worked for me
goto zm console clik options , system tab down to ZM_OPT__FAST_DELETE
7 DOWN THE LIST Uncheck ticbox
hit save in lower rh of window
restart zm
that fixed me up
it started cleaning up the drive right after boot
no problem since
ps
you may allso have a "arkive" of "saved events" if you have ben arkiving events the 'purge when full' filter will not clear arkived events on the drive that is if you are arkiving any events
