Hi...
Looking around I don't see much in the way of new/updated Debian-zoneminder install instructions over the past 5 years. Is there a stone I have left unturned? (i.e. better instructions can be found if I look here........?).
I have had zoneminder running on redhat in years past. Now I'd like to get it running on my 24/7 Debian server box. I loaded the Debian-zoneminder package, but am left wondering why it didn't create the normal zoneminder web page. With out that - I don't see a way of getting started.
-thanks
p.s. I'm running:
# dpkg -l | grep zoneminder
ii zoneminder 1.24.2-2.1
On kernel:
2.6.30-1-686

Re: Installing 1.24.2-2.1 onto a Linux/Debian box, no zm web
This link looked promising (as it starts out by saying: "Unfortunately, ZoneMinder (ZM) doesn't really have all that cohesive of a tutorial system."):st2000 wrote:Hi...

However, even this doesn't mesh well with the current Debian-zoneminder package behavior. I followed steps up till...
There is no such file as zoneminder.conf. Anywhere.jelkimantis wrote: Now, make sure apache knows what it's suppose to be doing by typing the commands:
sudo ln -s /etc/zm/apache.conf /etc/apache2/conf.d/zoneminder.conf
this will let your web server know where to find the information about zoneminder.

Sorry for listing links to other parts of the forum. But I was expecting to find help for ZM 1.24 here and not in the distribution forum. I'll include the link in this follow up in case anyone else is thinking along the same lines. I'm going to try and follow these instructions and see where they may lead me:st2000 wrote:Hi...

I got ZM to install from the Debian zoneminder package. You can go to this tread for more:st2000 wrote:st2000 wrote:Hi...
