ZoneMinder Console status is always "Stopped"

I installed ZoneMinder version 1.24.2 and logged in as admin. I am able to create monitors and change user preferences etc etc.

I started zm through the command line as "service zm start". It starts fine and the status is Running.

But the ZoneMinder console shows the status as "Stopped". Not able to start it.
Worse, there is no link under the Monitor entries so I cannot view the images from the IP camera.

Can anyone help? Thx.

Check connection to mysql, to ip cam (ping from console), check apache
run zoneminder use command "rczm start", stop - "rczm stop", status - "rczm status", restart - "rczm stop && rczm start"
