Dropped frame? on cheap webcam monitor

Hi All

I seem to have successfully set up ZM 1.24.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 using the packages available in the repositories. It's running on an Asus EEEpc

One of the cameras I was going to is the built in web cam.

Setup went ok, but I intermittantly get a black frame (say once every five minutes or so)

If it's a driver/hardware issue, can I make it only motion detect if it happens over a longer period of time than one frame?

Well, I've given up on this unless anybody comes up with a suggestion. Too bad, the idea of using the webcam in the lid was a nifty way to help prevent theft of the server itself without spending any additional $
