For the most part nothing the only thing i do once its setup is make a hard disk image. Save to a dvd and then tape the cd inside the Pc case so it dosen't get lost. Although i have never used the backup because it dosen't really break.
I'm not speaking for the Kingofkya but I have 3 sytems with a total of 21 cameras, two systems (14 cameras) are remotely administered (all family). Prior to moving to Fedora 12 and 1.24.2 I would have told you that you needed to be constantly monitoring each for trouble but since the upgrade in early March this has become boring. No issues what so ever and benign neglect is the order of the day! Had some issues early with the preconfigured firewall but that wasn't very difficult to over come at all. I'm using salvage computer systems and a few cheap analog CMOS sensors, mid level CCD sensors mixed with low end IP stuff (640 X480 max). I'm now convinced that any problems are with the setup or installation and not with the program itself (1.24.2).
