Hello,
The feature description of ZM 1.24 includes the detection of 'signal loss' for locally attached cameras.
I have a camera setup consisting of 3 analogue cameras, attached to 2 bttv cards with connexant fusion 878a chipsets. The system works fine, but I would like to automatically detect signal loss of any of the cameras / camera failure.
Currently, if any of the cameras is disconnected, the monitor image simply turns to a homogeneous blue image, which is still recorded by ZM. The change from regular video to this blue screen is detected as motion event. The feature description for Zoneminder, however, mentions that in case of signal loss, a 'signal loss event' would be recorded. I cannot detect this event in the event list. Also, in the zoneminder web interface, the camera source color remains unchanged during signal loss.
How can the detection of signal loss be enabled? How can I execute shell code in the event of video signal loss? My intention is to trigger a VoIP call via asterisk in the event of signal loss so that the unattended zoneminder PC immediatly reports potential camera failure.
Thank you for your help!!!
