Connection with Axis camera and delay problem

Post by 50cc »

For testing purposes I have connected an online and public Axis 213 PTZ webcam to our ZoneMinder installation. This works great!

The camera itself van be viewed by anyone and has a MJPEG stream of about 4-7 FPS.

When I look at the camera from our ZoneMinder console, it all works, but there is a non-constant delay of about 20 to 60 seconds when compared to the 'real' and direct stream from the camera.

I set the camera to 1 FPS on our ZoneMinder system, to prevent overloading the public cam.

Any ideas? :?

Though I don't personally follow the advice (this machine's not short on horsepower), most advise that you not use the ZM console itself to view the ZM streams, since it's busy recording them/modetecting them, etc. Have you tried looking at the ZM interface from another computer?

What's your system load listed at on the ZM console?

Seems there's several people with this same problem and Axis camera's. But not one has a solid answer to the issue.

I happen to be having the same problem.

Set the 1fps on the camera and set the fps on ZM to unlimited.

You might have to do this with a "&fps=1" at the end of the "Remote Host Path"
