Zoneminder's "top level source directory"

This is a total newbie question, but I think I'm just a few steps from getting my ZM to work! There is a patch out there that fixes a problem with zm_local.camera.cpp. I have heard that it must be copied to the "top-level ZM 1.24.2 source directory". Where might I find this directory (please be specific)? I am still quite new to linux file structure.

It means add it to :-
ZoneMinder-1.24.2/src
You will then need to re-build Zoneminder - read ZoneMinder-1.24.2/INSTALL
