Win7 montage - one cam only

Post by NR6v »

Hi folks,

i'm running a 3 cam ZM setup which works really great.
Only issue so far is that i'm unable to get all cams showing up in montage view on my Win7 PC. Tested this on a couple of combinations of clients and browsers, and thats what i found out so far:

only 1 cam showing up:
Win7 Firefox
Win7 IE with cambozola

all cams visible:
Ubuntu Firefox (locally)
XP Firefox

Also tried changing settings within firefox, but as it happens with IE too i tend to think its somehow Win7 related.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi Christophe,

thanks for your reply. I tried changing the values but then didnt get any image at all, reduced them to make it work as before. Values are:

PREVIOUS:
kernel.shmall = 134217728
kernel.shmmax = 134217728

NOW:
kernel.shmall = 1073741824
kernel.shmmax = 1073741824

Unfortunately it didnt resolve the montage view problem.

Also tried to increase loglevel and check both zm logs and apache logs, but no problems reported there.

Any other ideas i could try?
Thx,
Christine

since all of the monitors work individually and on other PCs, then the
problem you're having are not related to zm server memory. it would be
your os, browser, or security software keeping the max of simultaneous
streams really low LOL.

did you go into about:config in firefox ?
did you check your firewall / protection software. macafee and norton
get pretty stiff on some things and don't always tell you since most ppl
don't know or care.

i just did an RDP to a win 7 pro machine and i could view my 3 cams.
if firefox is set right then i would look at the security software you are running on that pc

turn off all firewalls AND any security software. use firefox. firefox should give you at least 3 or 4 cams without changing any settings

win7 is still windows though so now you need to get Kaspersky
to play with those streams or you'll soon be scanning for trojans
and root kits.
but then who knows maybe win 7 is a little tougher than it's predecessor

I wouldnt count on Win7 alone when it comes to security. Kaspersky has an option to exclude specific hosts from its web protection. Since its all on my home LAN that will be the route to go.

Funny enough i'm in IT business and should've been able to find that myself :roll: but since Kaspersky did a great and almost invisible job on all my computers for years i simply forgot its there ...
