[SOLVED] Need help for setting Instar IN-2905

Post by Raymondo »

Hello,

i bought an outdoor IP Camera called Instar IN-2905. The cam is connetecd by WLAN to a Fritzbox 7270 Router. I'm not satisfied with the original Software, so I installed zoneminder 1.24.2 on my netbook running with Ubuntu 10.04.

The installation was quite easy because of the excellent howto in the german Ubuntu board.

Unfortunalty I'm not able to configure the cam as a monitor in zoneminder. I get no picture, when I click on the monitor link. The colour shown as a link "source" is red.

Settings in "General" tab are:

[Name]
Garage_Cam

[Source Type]
Remote

[Function]
Monitor --> for testing

[Enablad]
activated

[Linked Monitors]
none

[Maximum FPS]
no entry

[Alarm Maximum FPS]
no entry

[Reference Image Blend %ge]
7

[Triggers]
non available

Settings in "Source" tab are:

[Remote Protocol]
HTTP

[Remote Method]
Simple

[Remote Host Name]
user:password@IP_of_the_2905

[Remote Host Port]
80

[Remote Host Path]
The manufacturer has these informations on his website:

MJPEG: http://[IP_of_the_2905]/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=
MPEG4: http://[IP_of_the_2905]/videostream.asf?user=admin&pwd=
Snapshot: http://[IP_of_the_2905]/snapshot.cgi?user=admin&pwd=

I tried every option - with and without "http://" as a prefix - unsuccessfully. :(

[Remote Image Colours]
24 Bit Colour

[Capture Width (pixels)]
640

[Capture Height (pixels)]
480

[Preserve Aspect Ratio]
left empty

[Orientation]
Normal

For now i set no changes at the tabs "Timestamp", "Buffers" and "Misc"

Can someone please help to get the right cam parameters so that the cam will work with zoneminder? Thank you very much.

Ray

Try "/videostream.cgi?" or "/videostream.cgi" as your remote host path.

Great, thank you!

The option /videostream.cgi? works fine.

The Source colour now is orange...
