No images on grandtek GXG-9000 9 port card

Post by mikelaitj »

I downloaded and installed the mandrake distro from Ross on a fresh Hard drive. I installed a Grandtec 9 port video card linked from this site and shown as supported (GXG-9000).
I hooked up 8 monochrome cameras.
(link to instruction manual here)
http://64.207.2.92/USCD/man_data/JVC/Ma ... Manual.pdf

I configured three cams as camera 1,2,3 on device 0
When in go to montage view, I get a broken link icon. If i change the mode from still, to stream, I get black images, as though there is video, but I don'
t get any image.
There appears to be jpgs being written to home/user/events/camera 1,2,3 /001-capture.jpg

When I go to a remote computer and bring up zoneminder in a browser, it appears to be refreshing properly. But still no image.

When I run smu -d /dev/video0 -v -q this is the info I get.

Try viewing your cameras with TVTime ot xawtv. If you can see them that way its just a matter of using the right settings in defining the ZM monitor source.

I don't have any experience with that card, but I would try these values first.

Device : 0
Channel : 0
Format : 1 (NTSC)
Palette : Grey
Width : 320
Height : 240

Also open a terminal (konsole) and enter "sys", (Alias for sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog) and you should see some informative messages / errors that you could post here if this doesn't get you going.

Best regards,

Ross

I transfered a hard drive with win xp to the computer that i had installed the mandrake zoneminder distro to. The computers are indentical. Dell 733 mhz sytems.
I installed the dvr software that came with the grand tec card, and the cameras came up right away.
So at least I know there is no problem with the card.
