Losing frames while modect

Post by dive »

Hi! I got one monitor set up for motion detect. Zone is default (whole frame). Buffers settings are like these:

Image Buffer Size : 50
Warmup Frames : 25
Pre Event Image Count : 25
Post Event Image Count : 125
Stream Replay Image Buffer : 1000
Alarm Frame Count : 10

Camera FPS is 25. I noticed that in created events some frames just get lost. Here's an example of analysis. These are frames #35 and 36, they're consequent I mean.

And here're frames 35-36 too:

This weird effect is viewed clearly if we generate video from these series: #1 #2

I don't know, maybe it's some kind of trouble with frame #35? Can anyone point to any reason of this mystic? Thanks.

I would try a lower alarm frame count personally.. Your pre is set to 25, with an alarm frame count of to (25+10=35).
My guess is that for some reason, the alarm frame count frames aren't exported to video.

Try setting the alarm frame count to 1 or 2 and see if it improves

Yes, that helped. Thanks jondecker76!

Though I still can't get rid of speeding up action in every video (you can see it in those youtube videos from first post). But that's ffmpeg problem I think.

Are you using MJPEG cameras by any chance?
I think I've noticed the same speedup on my MJPEG cameras, but only if I fill in a max framerate in the monitor setup
