Post by gaunt1969 »

trying to setup ZM on Fedoa 13. I followed the link http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Fedora and eveything went ok when I try to setup ZM for a foscam the ip address stays red. this is my setup
general:
name = kitchen
source type= remote
function = monitor

source:
rem protocol = http
rem method = simple
rem host name = 192.168.1.40
rem host port = 81
rem path = /videostream.cgi?user=xxxxxxxxx&pwd=xxxxxxx
remote image = 24bit
capture width= 640
capture heigh= 480

when I type this into brow. http://192.168.1.40:81/videostream.cgi? ... wd=xxxxxxx

I get the camera feed and it looks ok , What am I doing wrong? about to pull my braines out thru my nose and beat it on the table.

Lower the resolution within the camera to 320*240 and then match that setting in the source tab this will eliminate any shared memory issues (which will cause the head bumps and bruises every time). Now retry all that you've already tried; I bet it'll work...

This worked for me on ubuntu 10.04 with repository install, thanks.

How can shared memory issues be resolved to allow higher resolution?
