How can I config Zone Minder to use a built in "HP webc

Post by yesyes1 »

Hello,
I have looked all over the web and could not find an answer, how can I config Zone Minder to use a built in "HP webcam"? I did find other people that had the same issue with different laptops but there configuration does not work for me
here is a pic of what I got so far:

and one more question:
is it possible to review old recordings that where not captured by Zone Minder in order to check them for events? ... I mean to take .wmv files that where taken by that same web cam using Windows and check them in Linux with Zone Minder?

Thanks!

Try putting /dev/video0 in the device path, also check that the video resolution configuration matches the settings of the hardware (320x240, 640x480, etc).

:( ... i put /dev/video0 >>> it's the same...
i don't know what is my resolution configuration for this webcam and it doesn't say it on any program or any HP site on the web... how can i know?
I think that it my problem has to do with other configurations in the "source" menu... and not only the resolution configuration, you don't think so?

Its not working still, can someone help?
How do i check the logs?
I still think it has to do with the "Device Format" and "Capture Palette" config and less with the "Resolution"... but can i check them?

Thanks...
