Live Cd + gv-800

Post by agustinderky »

First of all I apologize for my English is not very good. I am Argentine.

I need someone to help me, and exhaust all possibilities.

install the live cd ZoneMinder LiveCD v1.24.1, and I had to update the kernel to version 2.6.30 to recognize my GV-800 plate.

crw-rw-rw-+ 1 root video 81, 0 30/10/2010 11:53 / dev/video0
crw-rw ---- + 1 root video 81, 2 30/10/2010 11:53 / dev/video1
crw-rw-rw-+ 1 root video 81, 4 30/10/2010 11:53 / dev/video2
crw-rw ---- + 1 root video 81, 6 30/10/2010 11:53 / dev/video3

10.04 in ubuntu I have to create the file / etc / modprobe.d / bttv.conf

# I2c
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
options i2c-core i2c_debug = 1
options i2c-little-bit bit_test = 1

# Bttv
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv card = 157,158,158,158 radio tuner = 4,4,4,4 = 0
options tuner debug = 1

In this version of the live cd, which set up this file, because it failed to get any pictures and I guess that's why.

Server on Ubuntu 10.04, I work relatively well.

Is your hardware ati or via chipset based? (GV-800 is currently not compatible with VIA series and ATI series chipset motherboards) http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/product/GV-800.htm

You can test your card output with VLC or XAWTV to make sure of the OS device settings plus this will give you clues as to ZM set up.

Looks like a good card; be sure to post working settings when you get it up and running. Check: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... ight=gv800

Thanks for the reply, it is not NVIA and hardware is compatible, works on windows and ubuntu 4.10 server.

When I test the output with xawtv (/ dev/video0) I see the blue screen.

Good chance that the card has been detected incorrectly.
