Zoneminder 1.23X /var/cache/zoneminder/events is full

I forget to setup the purge filter to clean the hdd after it reaches the 90 threshold and /var/cache/zoneminder/events is full. I have deleting the events under /var/cache/zoneminder/events manually and then I will attempt to start zoneminder again. It this the correct way to do purge the hdd if it gets full?

It works and possibly the only way.

Sometimes worth running zmaudit.pl manually to remove the corresponding database entries to the events that have been removed, but that will happen over time automatically anyway.
