I want to monitor a remote DVR, sold as LTS LTD2416 , also sold as Q-see QSTD2416 and others. I am unable to get either images or video streams form the camera.
The DVR is 16 ch, 480fps CIF H.264 recorder with remote access supported only for Windows via a web interface that talks to a custom OCX (DVROcxEx.cab). DVR provides a 'web port', accessed through the OCX and a 'server port'. This appears to be a common interface for many DVRs from different manufacturers.
Dumping traffic on the server port shows TCP connection with the first packet being sent unsolicited by the server upon connection, that is 64 bytes long and starts with characters 'head' followed by non-text info. This is followed by password authentication exchange and the server providing some sort of DVR and individual cam info, followed by what appears to be a datastream upon an 8-byte command from the client. Most of the exchange is non-text; I got the above from recognizing embedded strings.
I have not been able to identify this traffic as any standard protocol. But presumably it must be documented, since there are apps for iPhone and Android, that can get video from the DVR.
Sellers/'manufacturers' are not responding to provide any docs and I have not been able to identify any other source of info.
I would appreciate any suggestions or pointers to sources of additional info.
If you have any idea on who the actual manufacturer is or how to find more technical info, please share it.
Thanks!
