zmfilter auto-deleting events not work

Post by OlegVekhov »

Hello! I have ZM 1.24.2 installed via APT on Ubuntu 10.10.

5 AXIS cameras.

The problem is with zmfilter.

Deleted all filters, created a new filter "test" with deletion of old events. All right, the checkbox "Delete events" is set. But when I click Execute no events get deleted, it just shows table of found events.

The same situation from console, "/usr/bin/zmfilter.pl -filter test" does nothing.

Logs are perfect, no errors or even any warnings.

Where should I look? There are many other posts regarding my problem, but nothing helps me. Deleting filters, errors in logs - this not my situation!

More info. I tried to make filter that should move events to archive, not to delete them. But executing such filter again does nothing. Just shows a list of events. So, if I mark events in this list and press Archive all events successfully archived.

I'm using the 10.04 Ubuntu version and deleting old events is working for me. I started with the "purge when full filter" and modified it for events older than 1 day, then saved it with a new name and checked the "run in background" box.

I get too many Events and consequent Emails, but that is another story. But I never see evens listed that are more than 24 hrs old. The Emailed notifications are my main purpose, saving events is not very useful for us.

I sort on alarm frames, and "stop after 1" but a few minutes later I get Emails for the events that had a few less alarm frames and may be earlier or later in the time sequence depending on the number of alarm frames. I guess I need to add more conditions to the filter but its a bit unclear how to proceed at the moment.

I don't archive anything, I'm not sure I understand the difference between "archiving" an event vs. not deleting it.
