Trouble with h.264 on high-end axis camera

I have an axis p3344, I'm able to use it with mjpeg with ZM just fine. I also have several axis 207MWs which I am able to use RTSP/RTP with MPEG4 with no problem. If I try to use the p3344 with RTSP it fails with the following errors over and over:

I've tried compiling ZM with the latest ffmpeg and libx264 from git, my current error output is:

I believe this problem is because the cheaper axis cameras use MPEG4 whereas the p3344 uses h.264. In another post on the forums someone had suggested compiling ffmpeg with libx264, which I did. I rebuilt ffmpeg and zoneminder with libx264 support and it has had no effect.
I've been unable to use RTSP with the axis p3344 both in 32-bit and 64-bit debian with ZM 1.24.2. If anyone knows how to get ZM to work with h.264 I'd love to hear how.

I've the same your problem... on a Axis M1054, and I hoped that should find a reply with a solution.. but I don't find any. perhaps did you solved it?
