Im currently using a Philips 646 Webcam (PWC) at present.

But will be adding a ov519 based camera when I can sort out its drivers and then possibly onto a BT848 based tuner card if I can get it working...

Thanks for the continued support

I'm affraid that my experiance with web cams is almost null. The one I do have I haven't been able to get it to function in any aplication. Hopefully some one else can step in here.

CRT_Mint,

How goes your install? Got it all working yet?

I have made progress, sort-of. If I cleanly start zm and delete all monitors, define a new monitor, things appear to work. I get modetect events and when I open the monitor I get streaming video. However, once I close the monitor or open the zone window, I loose the streaming and the ability to capture anything.

I see I am getting lots of kernel messages in the log, but
they are beyond my knowledge, anyone out there see something?

BTW, I tried to include about 50-60 lines from my /var/log/messages file and it seems to squash the rest of the message, how do I include log files?

Thanks for all the community help. I have been reading the forums and finding fixes.

Pete

Ouch! I've not seen this kind of error before though I imagine it's security releated so perhaps the SELinux types arund here might be able to help.

Posting logs should be a problem, even long ones. You could try putting them in a 'quote' or 'code' section and seeing if that helps.

Peter

Sorry no success yet. Still struggling with the same error messages. Although I'm starting to regret picking FC3 as a distro.
I would think your issues certainly look SELinux based due to the AVC entiries. Although exactly what, sorry I can't be of any help.

CTR_Mint,

Sorry to hear your's is not working. Mine is annoying, works sometimes. When I installed it last time I found all of the configure/compile cycles had left little bits of corruption (sorry can't relay them here that was a file I lost when disc died). I may go and wipe ZM clean and try a fresh re-install. Now I should have all of the other software in place.

Got any good pointers to SELinux/Apache? I litterally started with FC3 out of the box. I have disabled SELinux, but your post says I may still be suffering from it in some ways. Where do I start to look? Do I need to modify the default Apache config? If so what? I have looked at the Applications->Systems Settings -> HTTP Server tool, not much too it (but I also don't know what I am looking for). Obviously I need to spend some more time with my whole system config.

FC3. Mixed views. I was running RHEL WS 3, and was not so happy. It worked, seemed slower that FC3. While it was stable I kept finding I wanted to try some different tool, and RH Network kept seem to get in the way. I need to put ZM on the back burner and finish getting my machine more tied into my network. Samba still needs work so I can do better backups. Still need to experiment with USB (I have both hard discs for backup, DVD burner for media). Don't want to spend all this time getting ZM working (and all the other software) then have the machine blow up and I don't have backups.

Good luck with your setup.

I too am considering starting from the beginining again or even from an RPM.

I'm no SELinux expert either and my install is fairly defualt too. Further I just followed the instruction given on the Redhat site to turning off SELinux. Think those instructions where already relayed thro this thread.

As for Apache config I use Webmin. Infact I opt for Webmin where I can, gets rid of modifying text files. I also remotely access my server which is running ZM etc so it helped with that. Although that was before I worked out how to forwrd X thro ssh. As you can guess I'm still learning. I would recommend you try Webmin, its great.

Oh and I turned on most of the Apache stuff through it and it seemed to work oK
