Hi all
I have an Axis 2100 which I have been unable to set correctly.
Can someone assist with the correct setting for ZM .16. in the camera source settings?
I have set the IP number and can see the demo page from a browser.
Thanks ... Algenon
Axis 2100 camera settings.
Re: Axis 2100 camera settings.
Problem partially solved. The camera needed a gateway in its setup which is set to my ISP, which is different from my home network. Changing my default gateway improved things. Still working on it though.
For info I have the Remote Host set to;
Name 130.95.26.101
Port 80
Path /axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=320x240
Now to try and fix that Apache memory leak.
Kind regards .... Algenon

Re: Axis 2100 camera settings.
Hi,
I notice your mention of the apache memory leak. If you are referring to the peristence of CGI programs in apache 2 then this is apparently fixed in 2.0.48 and the backported fix is pending for RH rpms. I believe (I've not tested it yet) that an early version of this is can be had from http://people.redhat.com/jorton/9-httpd/

Hi Philip, I used the httpd files you pointed me to in your last post and this seems to have overcome the memory (CGI) leak which was giving me the shits. So for RH9 users this would be a must.
Has anyone got the axix 2100 to work in 640 x 480 mode?
Thanks for your on topic help.
Kind regards Colin (AKA Algenon)

Re: Axis 2100 camera settings.
Spoke too soon. The memory leaks are still there, just now takes about 24 hours to lock up my RH9 box. Am now resetting my machine in the middle of the night from a cron job.
Don't exactly know why the leaks are there. The OS has all the updates and patches.
Still we are all going in the right direction.

Re: Axis 2100 camera settings.
Hi,
When you say memory leaks, what is it that appears to be leaking, ie which process is growing and is it growing at a consistent rate?

Phil,
Re: Axis 2100 camera settings.
Thanks Phil, however I'm not exactly sure how this is happening.
I end up with a large number of httpd processes running (up to 12).
If I kill them, the free memory increases, but they re-appear. The memory usage continues until there is none left and the machine locks.
If I access a camera the process rapidly increases.
I have a Gig of ram.
I discovered this after returning from work and finding the RH box dead
over a number of days.
I can watch the memory usage climbing using the KDE system process app.
Can you suggest where I might look so I can be of more help?
Thanks .. Algenon
