What dictates event scores?

Post by roasted »

I'm trying to figure out what dictates event scores. I noticed some events had a higher score. When I checked, there seemed to be more movement in those events. On a hunch, I went out and walked in front of the camera several times. Sure enough, the score for that particular event was 0/0.

So what's different from what I did versus the other events? What is it that makes ZoneMinder think, oh this deserves a 10/12, or whatever. Any idea?

The motion detection algorithm, based on the difference between the captured image and the reference image.

So if I'm running on "record" mode, I won't see scores? Only if I'm on modetect or morecord?

Also, I can't seem to find the setting where once motion record is in session, how long that event records for... any idea?

Motion duration plus the pre and post buffer lengths; makes it your choice on how long
