I installed zm on SuSE 8.2.
It installed, but my device shows up in red. (It is a Pinnicle PCTV Rave (BT878.))
When I bring up the preview window (streaming) it shows a broken picture.
The card works with KWinTV.
Below is from /var/logs/messages
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Shared memory not initialised by capture daemon
Hi
There are a couple of things here. Firstly some drivers appear to reject perfectly valid settings for window parameters etc but the parameters are actually applied. For these circumstances it is recommended to set the STRICT_VIDEO_CONFIG option to 'off' which will cause it to ignore errors and carry on anyway.
However, in your case I notice a slightly strange window size, 400x284. You should make sure that this is supported by your card or camera as it could be a genuine error that relates to that and which otherwise would no occur. If you're not sure try more common sizes like 320x240 or 352x288 first.
Phil,

Re: Shared memory not initialised by capture daemon
thanks, that cleared it up.
