Split Image Problem On Monitor

Post by nabetse_x »

Hi all,

I've been using Zoneminder a few years ago, and worked very well, recently understood a lot of configurations, but now i'm stuck with a problem that i can't resolve, 1 of my monitors have its image splited (attached still image) . With xawtv it looks great, but with Zoneminder this happens. Knows somebody how to fix this ?

Details of my installation :

Pc : Intel Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz CPU
Ram : 1024 MB
Video Card : Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 4000 AGP
OS : Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (miss some updates)
Zoneminder Versión : 1.24.2
DVR card PICO 4 Channel PCI (about 5 years old)
Camera : Samsung SDC-415
Configuration on Zoneminder :
Device Path : /dev/video0 channel 3
Capture Method : Video for linux 2
Format : NTSC
Palette : RGB565
W x H : 320x240 pix
Using Passive Balun with UTP Cat-5e Cable, about 60 mts.

If anyone can help me please, ive tryied different methods of configuration, and won't work.

Thanks in advance.

Note : sorry, my english sucks, i'm from Chile

Con xawtv funciona perfecto, pero esto pasa con Zoneminder, Sabe alguien como arreglar esto ??

Check "CAPTURES_PER_FRAME" setting (options::config). Or possibly disable "V4L_MULTI_BUFFER" (options::config). If neither of these fix the problem try Video for Linux 1 in the monitor source settings. One more thing I just noticed, try changing the palette to BGR24 unless your sure the one selected is correct (palettes seem to have changed with 1.24.2).

Just realised I never gave you a value for "CAPTURES_PER_FRAME", it should be 2 or possibly 3. Be patient in between changes, takes awhile to actually see the change after save.

the way fixed this problem was to....(in ver 1.22.2)

1. Make sure all monitor settings on the card in use are the same (i.e. resolution, FPS, ....)
2. Set max FPS to 2 or 3 On ALL 4 channels
3. Click on "Running" and restart the service (not the DVR)
4. Connect Cameras to all 4 ports

this has always resolved my problem and then i could increase the fps to 3 or 4.

also under EACH camera settings go to "BUFFERS" and set the following settings(will also reduce cpu load as well as help resolve the problem)

Image Buffer Size (frames) 20
Warmup Frames 10
Pre Event Image Buffer 10
Post Event Image Buffer 10
Alarm Frame Count 1
