ZM, no camera view

Post by Robak »

Hi.

I can't see (properly configure) any of the picture on ZM web.

Tried to search forum and ggl, but couldn't find relative.

The configuration:
Debian, kernel 2.6.32-5
motherboard: EPIA 5000
card: KMC4400R (4xbt878) + one camera connected

bttv loaded with option card=133,132,133,133
can see camera view by xawtv on all 16 channels, with remark that it works on /dev/video0 (0-15) same as /dev/video1 (0-15) etc. it means:
I can see view from one camera - f.e. connected to ch.0 when I type
xawtv -device /dev/video0 , and then choose Component=0 in popup window, as well as
xawtv -device /dev/video1 or 2 or 3,
camera reconnected to any of the input works, just with proper setting of Component_Port

I can start web interface from another PC of ZM from //<ZM_server>/zm and see all params to configure.

And that's it. Can not set any proper settings to have camera view
I tried with: Monitor, local, source=/dev/video0, capture_Methdo=VfL ver.1 (also with ver.2), device_ch.=0 (also others)

No idea what to check next.

Very appreciate any advice

The ZMver. is 1.24.2-8

I've restarted system and now occasionaly I have a picture from cam available under web interface.
If i add limitation to 5fps max, it refreshes (very slow - each 10-15sec). The view is also, randomly correct or "black" with "dummy" time presentation.
See below

I'm not sure how to make te view smooth and stable.
Can it be anything with shared memmory, or?

Disable all monitors (uncheck enable on general tab) except for one, your choice. Hook the camera up to the correct connector for that device. Compare your source tab settings against the ones in the source tab (.png) above; the general tab you posted doesn't help when you don't have a feed at all. If you're still not getting a feed, post your source tab settings or better yet post a snap shot of your source settings and we'll have a look. Could be shared memory but I doubt it at 320*240, 24bit color. We're not to that stage of troubleshooting yet, so let's focus on source settings.

Removed all "monitors" except one. I've only one camera at the moment for testing.
This gave to me stable view on the cam, see below pic for settings. The view in the browser refreshes each 5-7 sec. The same freq when it's 320x240 or 640x480 and BRG24/32or GREY.

At the same time description beneath the picture shows aprox 20fps for 320x240 bgr and 25fps for grey. With 640x480 it's 5-7fps. Anyhow is it possible to have "smooth" view??

maybe not 25Hz but 2Hz?

And as You can see, i tried to set "Mocord" option, files are creating (under events dirs) but 0bytes.

Aaahhh, i forgot, it started to work better also when I have changed /dev/video0 to /dev/video1
The "1" is considered as "master" for my card. 0, 2, 3 are slaves. Even if all shows the same on ports 0-15.
