ftp upload events to zoneminder? (running ver. 1.24.2)

I have about 10 axis cameras on my network, and this number is expected to double soon. Right now those 10 cameras are eating up most of the cpu and bandwidth to the zoneminder server (regular traffic at any moment is 100MB/s). The server has 3 cores assigned to it (it's a vm on esxi) and usual % of use is 80-90% for them.
Each camera does motion detection on its own, so that saves some cycles. On motion detection it sends tcp trigger and zoneminder records as expected. Each camera is configured on ZM as NoDetect, thus spawning a zmc process.

I figure if each camera can upload the event images to zoneminder via ftp I'll save a lot of bandwidth and cpu cycles.

I haven't found the way to do it in the wiki (if there is please point me to it!)

is this possible? any help is appreciated, thank you!
