Backup/Restore Zoneminder config
Backup/Restore Zoneminder config
I was wondering if there is a way to backup a zoneminder config so that it can be restored after fresh install or on another machine?

Maybe is a good feature to implement in a newer version. Meanwhile, if you backup your database using phpmyadmin, you could restore the database whenever you want.

Will this database backup contain config, events or both?
Re: Backup/Restore Zoneminder config
I think that inside is everything, but I believe that the real jpeg files should be in a valid path, if not, the database could be corrupted. Maybe a 'senior' ZM user could confirm this.

Re: Backup/Restore Zoneminder config
PacoLM, I've been asking for this "feature" since 1.22, maybe even 1.21. There used to be a script called "backup_zm" that would do something similar, but this was dropped very early on. It wasn't an official script, and I can't remember who wrote it.
After spending the better part of a night trying to get phpmyadmin working, I decided to just wipe it and install Core 15 and start over (again). Core 16 will be beta soon, and hopefully it has the newest version in it.
