Please Help - When trying to view events zoneminder hangs

I have Ubuntu 10.04.3 64bit desktop running with zoneminder 1.24.2, everything seems to be fine but when I try to play my recorded events it may play the first one but clicking the next button causes zoneminder to hang, if I go back to the main zoneminder login page I can see the browser is sat saying connecting.
I have tried evrything and looked everywhere but cannot find a solution to this problem.
I have checked the logs that I know and there doesn;t appear to be any errors.
I have to restart zoneminder to be able to use it again, it does still appear to be capturing events in the baclground, etc. so this may be related to apache rather than zoneminder but I'm not a linux expert by any means.
Has anyone else had the issue or can anyone help me with a solution, tell me which logs to look in, etc.???
