new install on Ubuntu 11.10 server...... no streaming

Just installed a 1.25 on a clean install of Ubuntu 11.10 server 64 as per the wiki for 11.04 every thing went well but I cant seem to get any images or streaming. I see these errors in the logs it appears to be php related but I'm not sure where to start or what it could be. I don't know much about php

if
mkdir /tmp/zm
chown www-data:www-data -R /tmp/zm

fixes your problem, I would put them in /etc/init.d/zm

Can you tell me why it would need to be www-data? Wouldn't you want that directory the same as apache?


The streaming issue was fixed on our end by another admin here. He said it was something to do with a config file that apache hadn't linked correctly.

it says /tmp/zm already exists and I chown but it didn't help.

Its not a post, it was something a local admin in my office did. Between the two of us, we are working on this server. When I'm not in, hes doing it, visa versa.

I will ask him when I talk to him next to see if he can tell me specifically what it was.
