I have a Zoneminder Box running 33 camera's. Runs great actually...
I do notice mysql struggling from time to time and I can only guess its because of the number of events I have.
Im holding at about 30 days with 250,000+ events. I would like to push this out to about 60 days but I am not sure it will hold up.
Im wondering if anyone knows of any tweaks I can run/add to mysql that might help it along?
Database tweaks?
Re: Database tweaks?
I'm noticing anything over 250,000 events it starts to struggle.
I'm deleting at 30 days and it seems to keep it at about 210-220,000 events.
Its not bad, I was hoping for a little more. But beggars cant be choosers.

Re: Database tweaks?
Sorry, but I've never had that many events, but do you mind posting your hardware configuration and camera type?
Re: Database tweaks?
Ill do my best to post the details about the machine. If there's an easier way let me know...
As Follows...
Dell Optiplex 980
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz
4Gb ram
3Tb HD
The primary camera were using is an Axis 209fd capturing at 10 fps.
We have a request for more camera's we were looking into an actual server solution now.

Re: Database tweaks?
So I was able to upgrade this system to an actually server...
Ubuntu 11.10 64
Dell PowerEdge 6850
Intel(R) Xeon(TM) MP CPU 3.16GHz x 4 (Shows up as 8 CPU's)
16GB ram
Its really odd. I have all 33 camera's running on this thing and the thing shows a load anywhere from 20-50. Which from what I know this is bad? But believe it or not it doesn't miss a beat. Everything view and records correctly.
I know not to many people will end up reading this, But I am curios if anyone out there knows it Ubuntu might read the load incorrectly? Or if this is normal for a server based platform?
