Half display

Post by alexg_ht »

I am running ZM on an Ubuntu box with ACTI ACM 4201 camera.

I am only getting half a screen on ZM when displaying the monitor (top half has half the image and the bottom half is black). The camera is set at 640x480 and the only way I can display the half image is if I set ZM at 320x240.

If I use ffplay, then I am getting the full 640x480.

I have been trying to solve this problem for a week now.

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

What happens if you set the camera and ZM both to 320x240?

Are you seeing a lot of shared memory errors in the zmwatch.log?

If I set both ZM and camera to 320x240, then I get two small images replicated horizontally on my monitor. But the two images are whole images.

There is no memory error on the zmwatch.log.

Thanks.

Hi,

Could be a crazy idea...change the state of the Options::Config V4L_MULTI_BUFFER value?.

After more than 15 years, no longer using ZM as surveillance system.
Now in the dark side, using a commercial system...

Hello, I know this is an old thread but was the issue resolved?
My system has been working without error for almost 2 years and in the last month it started only showing the top 1/4 of the image. It does this both when viewing the camera and when viewing saved events.
I do not remember making any changes.
Thanks all

Did you disable Options::Config V4L_MULTI_BUFFER value? I'm not familiar with "easycap" but maybe try changing "CAPTURES_PER_FRAME" to a value of 2. Worth a try anyway.
