Recent install via ubuntu

I've spent a few weeks setting this zoneminder install up, using ubuntu... etc.
We've let it run for a few days, and filled up the disk quickly. It's 100% full, and the sources were yellow.
I figured it needed a reboot, and now doesn't start mysql (i guess because it's 100% full)...

So I'm trying to figure out how to clean up the events so it's not full so it can run... then I need to find out why it didn't run the filters and delete events at 95%...

EDIT:
Okay, just testing this out... I deleted a 55mb log file (something zoneminder)
I was able to restart the mysql service.
Zoneminder is showing the login screen and I logged in.
I've started to run the filter, and manually deleting the events.
Now I need to know why it's not running the filter on it's own. lol

Did you check the box labeled something similar to "run in the background" when you created the filter? Number one failure cause for what you're experiencing.
