Streaming problem

Post by omicronvt »

Running zm 1.24.2 in Ubuntu for some time with no errors. Suddenly i have no live video from monitors, events are recorded OK, but if i try to watch them: same problem ---> no video. View frame inside event is working OK. Video generation is working OK. Syslog reports no error. It is like zm refuses to stream video...

Re: Streaming problem

Here almost the same.
I run Ubuntu 10.04, having a Foscam FI8918W hooked on my modem/router.
I set up ZM, have everything on green (Modect, camera name) but no stream.
On probe I get : "Unable to probe network cameras, status is '127'"

Settings:
Remote Protocol: http
Remote Method: simple
host: user:pwd@ip-adress
port: port of the cam
hostpfad: /video.cgi
pixel: 640
480

I have been looking for hours but no avail.
I know it is working because it takes pics on detection! I see it in the "events".

How can this be solved?
It is the last step to complete it.

Any help is much appreciated!

Post the logs in /var/log/syslog just after starting zoneminder, it will help to determine the source of your problem. Have you checked the shared memory settings?.

Well the sending of the mail is what I will pick up later but the stream is my main concern.
Can you see how and what?
I really do appreciate your time and effort in this Paco!!!

If you get the image in the events but no live stream, then for sure should be a configuration problem. Which OS and internet browser are you using to see the live stream?.

Try this, just to check that everything is fine on the ZM image & source config side:
1st: change the source path, instead of video.cgi, try snapshot.cgi instead (I believe foscam cameras support it)
2nd: try with a lower resolution, 320x240 instead of 640x480.

Don't forget to restart ZM after these changes.

OS = 10.04 (lucid) and the default browser = firefox

Applied the changes as suggested but no avail.
So weird as when I do http:/myip/videostream.asf?user=&pwd=

I have the streaming.
Also from the basic Foscam ip... not from ZM.

Must be a small tweak.. but damn.. where man?? 8)

Thanks for your help dude!!!

But that does not guarantuee anything as well.
