Hello,
I am having a strange problem with my two Provideo 153 (one A, one B) cards.
-- dmesg sees both cards, and claims to put entries in there for video0-7.
-- lnpci sees both cards
However, I only have entries in /dev/ for cards 0-3. 4-7 do not show up.
I have swapped cards in the slots. The card that is used is based on the PCI slot. I have also made sure that both slots are working by removing each card and trying one card at a time in both slots.
What gives?

Generally for bttv devices are not automatically created. So, as you have discovered, you will need to create any extra ones you need. If you make too many then that's no problem. The fiddly thing with a relatively unknown card is likely to be configuring the module parameters to get best use of the card. For that you'll need to find someone that already uses it or check with the manufacturer. Some, iTuner for example, publish what the driver settings should be.

As far as the video is concerned, it is already great. I am getting 20-40 fps per camera and the bttv driver configured it as a PV150 automagically.
Now, the audio portion is another matter. During the short time that I had FC3, the audio showed up in the hardware list app. However, it is not showing up in FC2. I've thought about doing a MAKEDEV for the audio ports as well, but have not figured out what the prefix should be yet.

So how is audio? Long time since it was posted, so I hope the answer is positive
Thanks,

driver help
I have one of these cards and I'm not sure how to install it. I have a fresh install of Fedora 6. Can some one give a step by step? I have been using Linux for a few years but never had to install new HDWR and I'm really lost.
