psychedelic mode on axis cameras?

Post by dbosso »

I'm seeing the image look like this in zm every once in a while from my Axis 216MFD and P3304 cameras:

Image

We refer to it as "psychedelic mode" when the colors go haywire as above, things return to normal after 10mins-1hr. Has anyone else seen this? Suggestions? It looks fine accessing the cameras directly.

Thanks.

I have exactly that on an old Axis 205, although it's more an outline on various parts of the image than all across like yours.

Has yours ever looked directly into the sun? Mine does and has for about five years, and it started doing this less than a year ago. I'm wondering whether that is the issue, but to be honest I'd expect damage like that to be evident in every frame so it's possibly software related.

I've worked around the problem by setting the fetch url to add &color=0 so it's only streaming in B&W, which doesn't show the interesting colours so much.

Oh, for what it's worth, I also have a very old (8yr+) Linksys ip camera that does it too, and occasionally flashes a frame full of nonsense.
