Multiple camera causing issues

Post by AfroZenPizza »

I've been having issues getting Zoneminder setup.
I'm attempting to setup a 12 camera system, and I seem to be having issues anytime I connect more than one camera.
The issue that I'm having is the image moving up and down within the frame, or (what look like) scanlines in the image. When using a single camera, this doesn't happen.
I have tried multiple setups of hardware and software.

The expected machine:
Dell Dimension 9200
Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz (Don't have the model, I can get it if necessary)
4GB DDR2 6400
Nvidia Geforce 7100
Geovision GV600(S)

Tested Machine (the one that I will link to later)
IBM M-Pro
Pentium 4 (H/T disabled)
512MB RAM
GV600(S)
Intel Integrated Graphics

OS Attempts:
Fedora 17
Feodra 16
Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop
Ubuntu 12.04 Server
CentOS

Other Capture Cards tried:
GV-250
GV-600-4 V3
Lorex 4 Port
Ebay Special 4 Port (I don't really have a name for this one. I know that it reports as a GV250 Though)
Then a second GV600(S)

I have tried a lot of different format and resolution combinations, some seemed to make it worse.
The best combination that I have found is NTSC/YUV411P/320x240

Because of issues with my post being too "spammy" for a new user.. Use

50.192.106.29
:8765
/zm/

to access the cameras, please

There is no username and password.
Before you complain about security issues that come with this, the port and the system aren't going to be the same ones that I use for the final setup. That also hold true for the performance.
I would post screen shots, except it's harder to make it clear that way. I would post .gifs, but I'm lazy.
Sorry if anything about this has been posted in the past. I did take about 30 minutes going through the forums.

Anyways, Thanks in advance,
A very lost Zoneminder User (in the future anyways)

Under options > config is the following option:

Use more than one buffer for Video 4 Linux devices (?)

I have unchecked it and restarted ZM and it seems to have resolved the problem. Click the ? icon when you are on the settings page and it explains what the option does and what your problem could be.

Basically, your feeds were interfering with each other :D
