Help with Buffer overrun errors

I have the following configuration, and i cannot figure out how to record continuisly without generating buffer overrun errors listed below.

Config:

Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit runnign vmware workstation 9.0
Zoneminder 1.25 running in vm, on ubuntu 12.04 64-bit.
i5 CPU, 16gb ram, dual SSD's, 3TB storage
Nothing else running in the VM or host system of consequence
16gb system ram, 13.5gb allocated to VM
sysclt set to recommendations of memory script listed elsewhere on this board:
kernel.shmall = 3462163
kernel.shmmax = 12762917630
fs.file-max = 100000
vm.swappiness = 1
vm.vfs_cache_pressure = 25

1 camera, set to record, 20fps and 1280x1080 resolution. buffer set at 250 frames, 25 pre, 100post images

Error: Buffer overrun at index 40, image 2040, slow down capture, speed up analysis or increase ring buffer size

I have tried everything I can think of and regardless, I end up getting this error after a few minutes of continuis recording.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be your shmmax is set too high?

Is that possible? Could it cause buffer errors?

I changed it to 4GB and started recording...will report back what happens for those who might be interested

I haven't gotten into the wolrld of shared memory very thoroughly, but it doen't seem to be too simple. According to my experience, setting values too high results in errors.

Sadly reducing the memory setting did not change the bugger overrun problem. I'm at a bit of a loss, I would really like the ability to record continually and it doesn't seem like I have the config right.

I can set the memory for the VM up to 13.5gb, yet i'm having buffer problems.

Would love some advice
