Full screen UI for system

I've been looking for this, I'd like to use the zoneminder host in the same fashion as a DVR recorder device.

So having a UI within KDE or Gnome that we an auto-start to a display and show the camera interfaces in a configurable fashion?

I've built systems that autorun Firefox which autoloads either zoneminder interface or an ip camera montage (see http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/IpCamMontage ). With FF running fullscreen it's pretty much as you describe.
