setting length of time for alarm to record

Post by jamby »

Hi

New to the Forum. Started playing around with ZM on a Centos 6 box with a webcam for now. Notice all my alarms are only recording for 1-3 sec's. Is there a setting that will increase the minimum length of time or number of frames?
I've been reading thru the forum but haven't seen anything covering this.

Thanks
Jim

Hi,

If you are using modect mode, check the buffers tab in each camera. The preevent and postevent image count are related to what you need.

If you set the Maximum FPS and Alarm FPS for instance to 3 and 5, then multiply the number of seconds you want to store in your event by this numbers.
I will recommend to increase the buffer size to FPS * 20, the warmup frames to FPS*5, and preevent/postevent to FPS*4.

Hope it helps, post results,

PacoLM

After more than 15 years, no longer using ZM as surveillance system.
Now in the dark side, using a commercial system...

That did it. The setting were:
Maximum FPS 15.00
Alarm Maximum FPS 20.00
Buffers
Pre Event Image Count 10
Post Event Image Count 10

I set them as you showed:

Max FPS 5
Alarm Max FPS 5
Pre 20
Post 20

So now a simple event lasts 10 sec

Thanks
