I did some reading.
Android with ip cam viewer can get 720p video that looks good.
The firefox browser plugin doesn't work on linux, and the chrome browser plugin doesn't work on linux either, so I've never had full frame rate video on linux.
With their new firmware, you can get crappy mjpeg with bad aspect ratio, as per:
http://foscam.us/forum/how-to-get-jpg-p ... t4328.html
You can also get too compressed jpegs by using this URL:
http://192.168.205.166:88/cgi-bin/CGIPr ... apPicture2
If you were to poll it, I'm guessing you can get 3-4fps, and the jpegs do look worse than the video on my android tablet.
The camera does not yet support RSTP (why did it ship then?) and I have no idea what video protocol they use instead.
Does anyone know, and whether zoneminder would support it instead of pulling bad jpegs at low framerates?
Zoneminder Foscam 9821W support?

Re: Zoneminder Foscam 9821W support?
Ok, I can confirm that the camera works in dumb frame capture mode.
I only get 4-5fps, and the jpegs clearly look worse than the real video from the camera, but I suppose that it's better than nothing while waiting for RSTP support.
Attached is the config screen. The truncated field is here:
/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?usr=admin&pwd=&cmd=snapPicture2
