Black screen problem

Post by billingd »

Hi
Just wondering if there's any advice you can give me ? I'm running ZM 1.25 on Ubuntu 12.04.
I've found it quite difficult to get this far with ZM, but its running; the camera view is showing the correct time at the top; the camera view shows that I'm capturing 25 fps; there are no errors in the log; but the images are all black.

I've applied this fix that I've found online and in these forums, eg:

Edited kernel.shmall and kernel.shmmax in /etc/sysctl.conf to new values.

But still no good

I've attached the log file.
My camera is in a birdbox, hence the name.

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Thanks

Hi

Are you talking about capture card ? Nothing very sophisticated. Its a very basic analog to usb - named as a Kworld product. Just been using it quite succesfully with an Ispyconnect setup on a windows laptop.

You will need to work on getting linux to recognise it. Id say thats your issue not zm at the moment. USB stuff on linux can be flakey at the best of times. Do you have a desktop on this linux box?

Hi

Yes I do have a desktop; its standard Ubuntu 12.04 (unity).
Odd though that I'm getting an fps from the camera ?
I'll try and do a bit more checking with the interface and take ZM out the picture (so to speak).

Thanks for your suggestion
